Volunteer roles

All volunteers must be 18 or over. Roles involving direct contact with learners under 18 require an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training before starting — see our Safeguarding Policy for the full process.

Standards framework contributor

Help draft and review SRHE's standards framework. Suited to academics and researchers with experience in RSE, public health, or education policy. No contact with learners required.

Guidance writer

Research and write practical guidance for academics delivering RSE in 16+ settings. Remote-friendly. No contact with learners required.

Outreach & delivery volunteer

Support or co-deliver RSE sessions in partner institutions. Involves direct contact with learners aged 16+, so requires an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training before you start.

Network coordinator

Help connect members, organise consultation sessions, and keep the network running. A mix of admin and community-building. No contact with learners required.

Communications & design

Help SRHE communicate clearly — website content, newsletters, visual design. No contact with learners required.

Governance & committee

Support SRHE's formal registration and ongoing governance as a company limited by guarantee. Suited to people with relevant legal, financial, or charity-sector experience.
